Guernsey’s only specialist media agency turns one

Black Vanilla, a specialist media planning and buying agency based in St Peter Port, celebrates its one-year anniversary on 11 August.

The agency was established by Jade Hall, 27, in August 2008 after a former client approached her. The client valued Jade’s specialist skills and expertise so highly, they entrusted their advertising budget to her start-up agency.

One year on, and despite the uncertain economy, Black Vanilla is going from strength to strength. “I am delighted with our progress to date. We have cemented key relationships and developed our resources, systems and infrastructure. We now have solid foundations in place for existing and new business”, says Managing Director Jade.

Black Vanilla has recently expanded, with the appointment of Fiona Jones as Media Planning Manager. Fiona brings over 13 years media planning experience to Black Vanilla, which she gained in top media agencies in the UK and overseas. Together, the team works directly with clients or in partnership with creative agencies.

Black Vanilla Forms a Partnership with DS Solutions

As part of our new business push, Black Vanilla has just formed a strategic alliance with UK-based pay-per-result specialist DS Solutions. This partnership will provide our UK brands with a unique combination of data driven solutions and cost-effective media buying – both of which are of particular relevance in the current financial market. Managing Director Dicky Smith comments, “The addition of Black Vanilla to the DS Solutions proposition provides us with a real value-creating USP to take to prospective clients. Fiona Jones Joins Black Vanilla

More exciting times for Black Vanilla! Fiona Jones has joined as our Media Planning Manager. With 13 years of media experience, from as far afield as Australia, Fiona brings a fresh, educated and varied approach to the company.

Fiona’s expertise in statistical planning and her no-nonsense approach to data analysis will further ensure decisions of sound grounding, and her personality will shine through any situation. We look forward to building on an already-strong media planning resource for our existing and new clients. A real find – and great news for Black Vanilla!

Office Move

Due to expansion, Black Vanilla has moved offices and is now situated in the heart of St Peter Port, close to the Old Government Hotel (OGH).

Jade Hall comments, “It felt like the right time to move from our offices at North Plantation. Black Vanilla is looking to expand the planning area of the business, so we have outgrown our current office. These are exciting times for Black Vanilla – We are looking forward to settling into our new office.”

Black Vanilla and Adserve

Black Vanilla has just obtained a media planning and buying software package from Donavon Data Systems, called Adserve. Jade has used Adserve as a media booking system in the past, so implementing it at Black Vanilla was a natural progression for the company and its clients.

Adserve helps Black Vanilla ensure we are positioning our clients’ companies in order to deliver the best media opportunities possible.

Black Vanilla is Born!

Black Vanilla finally makes its appearance after months of planning. Everything is in place and Jade Hall is about to embark on a new journey!

The offices are secured at 13a North Plantation and Black Vanilla finally exists. In fact we are already making bookings.
